Photographing Westgate Labs HQ

In June I drove almost 6 hours to the very furthest point (almost!) of England before England actually turns into Scotland! It rained and rained nearly the whole way but I've never been so happy to arrive at a destination, nor have I been so warmly welcomed in my life! Staying with Claire and Kat from Westgate the night before, we had a beautiful home cooked dinner and I was shown to my room. We had a lovely evening walk around the Fen Letch reserve with the dogs to let our dinner go down and then we sat drinking tea putting the world to rights for the rest of the night before bed!

Getting down to business the next morning, Claire and Kat got the horses in bright and early and began chisseling mud from their coats from the wet weather we'd had the day before. I joined in a bit later on and exercised my best grooming skills to help them to get Bertie's dapples shining like the little diamond he is and his tail (enough tail for 3 horses!) silky and knot-free!

This shoot had been in the works for some time and we had long but well planned brief laid out in preparation. The theme of this shoot was to capture the entire team (two leggeds, and four leggeds!) in action and some professional headshots. We also needed to cover process and content imagery from inside the lab and office, and some lifestyle content imagery. These style images are really important for businesses. It's part of building a strong brand and when done well, the imagery will remain aligned with your business purpose helping to keep content evergreen for reuse.

Here are some of the shoot results:

Above you'll see Claire's very own boy Teddy. Teddy is in his 30s now and has been in Clares life for a very long time. He does incredibly well living on a fantastic track system in a small herd at home on the Westgate nature reserve! Teddy was more than happy to oblige when we asked if he'd mind being in some of our shots.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Westgate for once again trusting me to deliver this project on their behalf. I had so much fun and I feel so completely at ease in their presence. Such a wonderful company to work for - with equally wonderful employees and a wonderful ethos! I feel very lucky indeed. In addition, I was extremely well fed and a bit like our horsey companions, the way to my heart is often via my stomach!
